Because we are not satisfied with the status quo, we are always on the lookout for innovations and improvements. Our development department finds the best solution for individual problems. We take on contract developments and participate in the development and research of new respiratory protection solutions in joint projects.

Product development
At the beginning of every development there is a problem, which in the best case has already produced a good idea as a solution approach. We get to the bottom of this approach, check the feasibility, analyze the project also with regard to economic efficiency and research the technical as well as legal framework conditions. If necessary, we provide alternatives. From the results, we develop a concept from which the specifications for design & development are derived.

Construction
A vision became a concrete object in the planning phase. Our design department brings the planned product to life virtually. A 3D-model is created, which our experts optimize in the various dimensions, such as manufacturing conditions and flow properties. At the end of the process, the finished model is the basis for developing a prototype.

Prototype construction & functional samples
Our development department has developed a 3D model on the computer based on a concept, which must prove itself as a prototype in the next step. We create functional models from the model data using the 3D printer. These are tested and the results flow back into further product development until the finished prototype is available as a sample.

Certification
With near-series prototypes, initial tests are carried out according to DIN EN standards as well as further tests depending on the requirements profile. In part, we carry out the tests on our premises, but depending on the test procedure, we also work with external partners. When all specifications are met and confirmed, the product is certified.

Production
With the successful certification, the development process is completed. The product goes into production. We organize and accompany all processes of the necessary production chain. From pre-series to series production, we have our products manufactured exclusively in Germany and EU countries – this guarantees short delivery routes. When selecting production partners, we place the highest demands on quality.
Research & Development
Since 2012, PM Atemschutz has been working together with leading universities, institutions and collaborative partners on research and development projects as part of the German government’s safety research program, promoting the research and development of innovative protective equipment.

Project goal
“Development of a chemical protection suit with increased maneuverability for
more efficient operational concepts through increased autonomy of the emergency forces”.
2018 – 2020
Project goal
Development of a novel, easy-to-use personal protective equipment for handling highly infectious patients to prevent infection among professional support staff (NeuPSA) in collaboration with the Robert Koch Institute.
2012 – 2014
Project Goal
Development of a blower respiratory protection system with novel performance spectrum through innovative mask technology, filter monitoring and intelligent operating condition control; development of an innovative respiratory mask including novel sealing technology and optimized airflow conduction.
